Research: Meaningfully Group Sections
I worked with the Project Manager and Customer Support agents to clarify how the page is used. It was also crucial to involve the Engineers to determine which content causes system strain and leads to page freezing.
Later on, a discussion was facilitated with key stakeholders to narrow down the User Details content groupings that reflects the primary users’ needs.
Design Decision: Visual Order and Consistency
After getting stakeholder alignment on the content hierarchy, I began fleshing out the visual composition and leveraged the existing design components to create a consistent product experience. Minor adjustments were made from constant feedback.
Design Decision: Table Restructure
The single-column layout created visual breathing space which improved table visibility and readability. Tables were updated to support Customer Support better; this includes the order of columns, communicating account status and providing shortcut hyperlinks.
Challenge Faced
After receiving further feedback, we recognized the importance of redesigning the Feature Limit controls tab to ensure effective content management. We took into consideration the following issues listed below:
Lack of parent groupings makes specific inputs hard to find.
Instant single input processing slows down the system and user.
Hard to identify custom inputs and reset back to default limits.
